random ramblings

I’m sitting here on a Sunday afternoon, totally lost on what to write. Random thoughts commence!

We don’t have enough passion, enough hunger for Christ and the Holy Spirit. The fire, the hunger, the want for his Spirit, just isn’t there in Christian culture, especially in teens. We need to get fired up for Jesus, passionate about his cause, then we need to funnel that passion into serving. Reading this blog is great, but absorbing knowledge about God isn’t enough, go and do. Fulfill the Great Commission, you have talents and gifts for a reason.

Mean what you say, say what you mean. Honesty is the best policy. Don’t be fake, guys. It’s not worth it.

Don’t let your fear destroy you, to quote NF. If you want something, go get it. You feel called to something? Go after it. Doubt and fear are from the devil, and every second we believe those lies, we feed into them.

Proactivity is better than reactivity. I’m not talking about work related, I mean emotionally. We can choose how we respond. That’s proactivity, seeing the bigger picture of life and picking your battles. Reactivity is living in the moment, reacting to every little thing that comes up.

We need a relationship with God, not a religion for Him. We’re called to follow God with our heart, not our head. Granted, a balance is necessary, but just a head knowledge of God is not healthy. A relationship with Him, however, unlocks all kinds of doors.

Keepin it Movin — Andy Mineo: Y’all, this song is so fire. Andy has so many good songs, with clear, purposeful lyrics, and this one is no different. fave lyric: “They don’t wanna squeeze, but they want the juice”

So Our God Came To Us — Social Club Misfits

Hold Me Back — KB

Lotta Christian rap, obviously, but also the entire Avengers: Endgame soundtrack, which is amazing and perfect for studying. Of course, the entire movie is amazing and perfect. (fight me, non-existent Zack Snyder fans.)

Proverbs 29:25 — “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”

Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Romans 8:37-39 — “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ephesians 5:8 — “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”

And that’s all I’ve got for today, folks. Next week I’ll have a real post for you, promise.

Stay salty,

  2. This was just good. Like really good. Also how come when I ramble it ends up to junk such as this comment, but when you ramble it’s like Socrates throwing verbal rocks at mediocrities, how and why, whyyy?
Zach Snyder fans are a thing, waaaaaaht?
So like said. This was good. Keep it up. 🙂

  3. Real post for us next week? Seemed like a real enough post to me. 🙂 Really encouraging and challenging, so thanks for writing. We choose how we respond to situations, we choose which path we take, and like you said, we gotta live what we say and work for what we want. Amen!!
